Welcome to the Sure Start Cowgate & Blakelaw Children's Centre Website

We have two buildings one is Families Matter in Blakelaw on Lindfield Avenue.

The other is The Sure Start Centre in Cowgate at Cowgate Neighbourhood Centre off Houghton Avenue.

We work together in our Children's Centre to provide better access to services for children and their families.

Children's Centres provide good quality intergrated services to children under 5 and their families, in order to give every child the best possible start in life, and have a braod and lasting impact on children, their parents and the wider community.

Children's Centres serve children and their families from the antenatal period, through until children start reception or Year 1 at primary school. We offer the following services to families to babies and pre-school children:

• Providing access to good quality play and learning oppportunities
• Supporting parents to access family support and health services
• Supporting parents who are looking for work or training
• Providing training opportunities
